Hi, I’m EvaN.
A Tennessee native, born and raised, I am guided by two core passions: service and adventure…
These values have shaped my life and led me to meaningful work and relationships across diverse communities. My experiences include working in leprosy colonies in India and East Africa, completing a Peace Education certificate in Rwanda, partnering with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office as an educator within the Nashville prison system, and conducting empathy training with law enforcement agencies throughout the United States. I am honored to have been named a 2023 Tillman Scholar by the Pat Tillman Foundation and feel fortunate to be a part of a community committed to service and leadership. Through this work, I’ve come to believe that life’s challenges can either hinder our growth or become powerful catalysts for it.
These experiences inform my belief, first and foremost, that my clients are competent, creative, and wise individuals capable of leading personally meaningful and fulfilling lives.
My Approach
Graduate Training
I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology and attended William & Mary as a graduate student, where I specialized in counseling within the military community. While in graduate school, I completed a Peace Education & Community Well-being certificate in Kigali Rwanda with an organization called Aegis Trust. Aegis exists to prevent acts of genocide and identity-based violence around the world.
As a therapist, my role is not to “fix” you, but to partner with you in exploring some of the most important questions you will ever ask yourself. Therapy does not need to be a humiliating or stigmatizing process. I view mental health care as an intentional investment—much like working with a personal trainer—where insight, practice, and support come together to foster growth and change. While this work can be uncomfortable and challenging at times, effective therapy should also feel empowering, hopeful, and even enjoyable as you build greater clarity, confidence, and intention in your life.
Clinical experience
I have experience in clinical settings, group, and private practice. I completed my graduate fieldwork at a specialized behavioral health clinic supporting post-9/11 veterans and their families in Clarksville, TN.
